The Land Registration (Amendment) Rules 2009 came into force on 1 October 2009 and made further changes to a number of the forms. The changes affect the wording in the panels where the registered number of an overseas company is given. Forms used for applications relating to overseas companies must incorporate these changes.

Together with the non-prescribed forms, they are available to download and print using the list below. The forms affected by the 2009 amendment rules are indicated by asterisks: the changes made by these rules are incorporated.

Forms AP1, DS2 and FR1

Since the 2008 amendments came into force, these forms have contained new confirmation of identity panels which must be completed for certain types of transactions. Please refer to Practice Guide 67, Public Guide 20 and our FAQs entitled Fraud and Identity Checks for more information.

Old forms (Rule 5, Land Registration (Amendment) Rules 2008 and rule 9, Land Registration (Amendment) Rules 2009)

A prescribed form as it was immediately before the Land Registration (Amendment) Rules 2008 came into force, provided it is not form AP1, DS2 or FR1 and does not relate to an overseas company, can be used if this is expressly required:

a) by an agreement entered into at least three months before 10 November 2008

b) by an order of the court, or

c) by or under an enactment.

In any other circumstances, an application using an old form will be rejected.
